Next to the banks of the Wilcamayu River (Sacred River), you will find our historic and peaceful hotel, constructed in 1810
for housing purposes by the illustrious citizen of Cusco, Don Manuel de Orihuela.
Our beautiful, antique colonial house reflects its history in its architecture. In it you can find the insignia of Liberator
Don Simon Bolivar from 1825, during his campaign for Peru's independence. (The room that he occupied is also available to visitors).
Don Simón Bolívar named Don Manuel de Orihuela "Alcabala View" and he was decorated in 1826 with the medal "Father of the Country".
We would like to mention as well that Don Manuel of Orihuela was named Treasurer of Cusco in 1830 and was Colonel of the Regiment
of Mariscal Ramón Castilla in 1847.
In historical times, the Villa of Yucay, referred to as such in the 17th century, was a place of solace and rest for the royal
Incas. It was known as Yucaybamba, and thanks to its fertile lands it was chosen by the Inca Pachacútec as an important center
for the production of corn, fruits and vegetables.
Take a short tour of its surroundings with us and you will have the pleasure of witnessing The Andenes of Yucay
(large agricultural terraces), beautiful covered arches and magnificent constructions of the noble Inca such as
The Palaces of Sayri Túpac and La Ñusta Inkarakay.
The Villa of Yucay offers a variety of tourist attractions that you can enjoy during your stay here in The
Casona of Yucay, your house in the Valley...!!!
